What is the difference between an English and an American Labrador?

Big Dog | July 22nd, 2010

Well, the most obvious difference is that English Labradors are from English stocks, and the American ones are from stocks in the US. Furthermore, the English Labradors can be called ‘Field bred’ Labs, and the American ones ‘Show bred’. This means that, generally speaking, the labs you see running in the field are most probably English, and the ones in shows are usually Americans. Due to this, there are some little differences in the appearance too: English labs have a heavier, thicker, and have a stronger body, while the American ones are more tall and lanky.
